Atoms in the Family

Atoms in the Family looks at the responses of four contemporary artists to the increasingly pervasive appearance of science in our life and culture. Based on an exhibition commissioned by The Annual Programme, it features an introduction by curator Cecilia Anderson explaining the context within which many artists explore the ways of visualising scientific research, and more importantly, question its accumulated content.

An essay by scientific historian Carsten Timmermann looks at the history of art’s entanglement with science from the Rennaissance to the present. Fully illustrated with colour images of the artists’ works, the publication comes with one of four different dust jackets, one by each participating artist.
