The Algerian-French artist Kader Attia (*1970) is internationally acclaimed.
His installations and photographs are based on in-depth ethnological, sociological, and philosophical research. A central topos is the influence of colonialism on Western and non-Western cultures and the processes conditioned by it.
The centrepiece of the exhibition at the Ludwig Museum Koblenz is the film “Réfléchir la Mémoire“, for which Kader Attia was awarded the renowned Marcel Duchamp Prize in 2016.
The accompanying publication presents selected works that reflect on the topic of architecture and the memories manifested in it.
